Midwife and founder of a Bali birthing clinic, Robin Lim, was awarded the top honor of “CNN Hero of the Year” at a Shrine Auditorium’s gala awards ceremony in California today. Lim, a mother of 8 and resident of Ubud, expressed that “every mother counts and healthcare is a human right” in her acceptance speech. She was selected as one of ten finalists for the award from a pool of 10,000 candidates from 100 countries.
“Robin’s honor is well deserved and I, for one, am very proud of her exemplary work and outstanding achievement,” said Meghan Pappenheim, Cofounder of the BaliSpirit Group and personal friend of Lim’s, “The entire island of Bali was rooting for her!”
